Three seems to be the number for Lizzie Low Racing
these days. On Saturday, Lizzie qualified to attend an unprecedented third
Summit Super Series IHRA World Finals at Memphis Tennessee next month. She
did so by winning her third IHRA Summit Super Series Division 7 finals in
She narrowly missed winning her third IHRA Ironman trophy when she went red by 9 thousandths of a second in the semifinals of the Division 7 Team Finals on Monday. Hopefully Lizzie will be able to capture her third Ironman trophy at this years IHRA World Finals. A “World Champion” Ironman.
Since there was only one other repeat qualifier last year it is possible that Lizzie is the only participant to qualify for all three World Finals since Jr dragsters were added to the program three years ago.
The two day event was extended to three days because of rain in the area.
Thanks to Summit, IHRA, and all our fans and sponsors.
Aubrie Brookings Ironman Win at Caprock.
Lizzie Low Racing experiences "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" at Caprock Ironman Race.
The Good: Lizzie made the final round again and extended her lead in the IHRA points championship and track championship by two more rounds. This gives her a nine round lead with two races to go. Lizzie has been in the final round six out of seven races this year with three victories.
The Good and the Bad: Lauren went to the fourth round which moved her into the top five in points. But, in doing so she beat Lizzie in the second round sending her sister to the buy back window for only the second time this year. So much for team orders.
The Bad: Lizzie missed a chance to win her third Ironman trophy when she lost a very close race to Aubrey Brookings in the final round.
The Ugly: When Lauren beat her sister in the second round she apparently was so excited that she took the exit turn a little too fast and flipped her car on it’s side. Fortunately she was OK and the car only suffered a few scrapes. To her credit Lauren returned for and won the third round.
Notes: The final round was an all West Texas Cruisers event since both finalist’s grandfathers are prominent members of the West Texas Cruisers car club.
Lizzie Low Racing wants to congratulate Aubrey and the rest of the Brookings team for winning this year’s Caprock Ironman Race and the trophy that goes with it. Well done!
Also, they want to thank their fans and sponsors as always.

JEFF'S EAGLE 1958
Elizabeth Low and the Lizzie Low Racing team captured
the CBS7 JR Dragster points series championship on Saturday night by winning
the last points paying race of the year at Desert Thunder Raceway. This is
Lizzie’s second championship in three years of racing. This was the
2nd double points race of the year that the team won.
After a disappointing result in the last race the team held a slim 3 point lead. With 20 cars in the field and 5 drivers in contention for the championship Lizzie left nothing to chance by defeating the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place contenders in consecutive rounds and then put an explanation point on the night by winning the race. Lizzie was the only girl in contention for the championship.
Crew chief and engineer Paul Low had the car perfectly prepared and dialed in for the event. Crew members Joanna Low and Ronnie Low performed maintenance between rounds to make sure Lizzie had a safe car capable of winning the race. The car responded with consistent launches and elapsed times.
The victory gives Lizzie the chance to lead a team of Jr Dragsters from Desert Thunder Raceway to the IHRA Region 4 Bracket Finals at Crandall, TX. in October.
Lizzie and the team would like to thank their sponsors for providing the resources required to field a competitive car and attend these out of town events. Thanks also to their fans for all the moral support during the season.
